Over 2,300 students and new doctors were at Optometry’s Meeting this past week in Washington DC! It’s truly inspiring to see the new generation of optometrists engaged in the future of our profession and the advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill through the AOA+ program. I’m moved by their enthusiasm and reminded that we must continue these efforts at home and to rally for best interests of our patients, now more than ever.

Thank you to our dedicated OCOS members who served as delegates at the AOA House of Delegates meeting and visited with policy-makers on Capitol Hill. I invite everyone to attend our local advocacy day at the Marshall B. Ketchum University on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Come join with students from MBKU and Western and our fellow doctors from other societies to meet with local legislators who will be in attendance. I’m very excited for this first time event in Orange County!

Our OCOS board has also been working hard on an excellent program for the August Pathology Symposium. Check it out on our website ocos.org and don’t miss our early-bird member discount on 6 hours of CE August 20th at the OC Mining Company. See you there!
